MORE MUSIC
Yeah, me peeps, I ‘m back. (Market harsh oo but anyhow oguru must jump). Sure you heard about the passing away of a legend, how sad it is when a star falls, our tears pour like water falls, memories flash fast and we ponder on the past life, we will meet again? Will she sing again? Will we ever have another to give us sweet music again, though memories remain, we still feel the pain; as long as we remain her music continues its reign.
Christi essein igbokwe, multi language diva passed away (God bless her soul), I had an experience I’d like to share with you, could you have experienced it too? i told a particular lady about the sad story and our conversation went thus.
Me: men it’s so sad o, you hear say Christi essien igbokwe don delete?

Me: my piple?
Friend: shebi you be media persin?
Me: but shebi dem talk say naija no like lyrics na only beat dem wan hear
Friend: if the two good we go reject any one?
Can anybody relate with that? Can I get a witness in the house? (Oh bless you broda, I see you sista, anybody else? Thank you) See my point? It’s a sickening situation. Now tell me how would I have described “Terry” (if you put G na you sabi) maybe the conversation would have gone thus.
Me: men it’s so sad o, you hear say Mr. Brink brink don delete? (Spelling is deliberate, make e no be say I dey find trouble)
Friend: who be that?
Me: ehh? U dey naija so, how you go say you no know who mr brink brink be? U no know this song (demonstrating too) “baby girl make I nak my kpako chaa nak u my kpako , arabarapachamamigrapa cham…chai free me cha…tile tile tile aaaaah free me, make gaga make gaga hihh free me mr. blink blink, she say I dey smoke plenty igbo e no meanoo, e no mean ehh, free me”
Friend: you dey aright?

Friend: chai , nothing wey persin no go hear for this naija, she na bcos studio don cheap? Every bodi na wey no get work go claim say him be musician, imagine make I flog you my kpako, guy abeg abeg……..

I’m not trying to pick a fight; I’m just being honest and reflecting the thoughts of music lovers around the globe. What are the causes? What is the way forward? we will consider these questions in my next write. One music, one world.

MUSIC MAKES THE WORLD GO ROUND
Hey music lovers, sup? Is it just me or it happens to you too. Something about music kinda has spiritual powers (not diabolical just in case you’re thinking of the baba in ya village). I really don’t understand the dynamics but it always has a way of doing something to you, good music that is. I am kinda of emm.. trying to explain it but like MJ said gone is the grace for expression of passion (sorry to you wey dey spin babe, run dry on those sugar coated lies that guys always tell and you’re…yeah, I am gonna say it f**ked).
You listen to some songs and they induce you to think and wonder (listen to Dem bobo by femi kuti) some make you so happy that you wonder if you have won a jackpot, some fill you with hope and motivate you (listen to “I know I can” by Nas or “ghetto child” by Joe feat. shaggy). Some songs are just plain prophetic that you wonder if Nostradamus wrote the song, some just get you high…. Like real high(checkout “natural mystic” by Bob Marley) some make you feel this feeling that we young people love to feel… yes they make us speechless and give us butterflies, we all love butterflies, big, small, medium, rich, poor, beautiful, ugly e.t.c we all want to be loved (let micheal jackson’s “speechless” or robbin thicke’s “lost without you” or shaina twain’s “still the one” or Shayne ward’s “breathless” do the trick) how about when regrets come our way (yes ke, with the rate at which people jump in and out of beds these days theres bound to be breakups listen to celine dion’s “think twice” or asha’s “bibanke”) this world would be thrash without music.
Now to the main issue (I guess this is where so many people are gonna hate me but who cares!) there is a global depreciation of intellectual soundness in our modern day music. Music has so deteriorated to the point that people don’t give a shit about lyrics anymore and that not because we don’t like lyrics, like most “I sabi sing wannabes claim”(stupid lazy people who tell una say we no like lyrics say na only beat we like). Please where did all the inspiration go, since when did music be all about all the different colors and sizes of “yansh and bobee”. Shit, oga don come, make I go sell market for my oga when I come back I go continue, checkout our artist of the week and leave ya comments.

OMAWUMI; AFTER 1
That’s definitely not the time right about now but it definitely is for the 28year old daughter of Chief Dr Frank and Mrs Aya Megbele. The warri babe put to bed safely at Rockdale Medical Center in Atlanta, where she was said to be holidaying but “if you ask me” … oh! common why should you any way, I suggest you ask her bosom friend waje who is always in the know about her friends affairs (nice rhymes “friends affairs), or better still, go ask the man believed to be responsible for our new sweet “chocolate baby girl” oluwatosin Ibrahim yusuf (the bad sharp guy, well, she will never have to “miss her baby” anymore).
The “tear rubber mother” said in her own words "I'm so excited I have delivered; it's always fulfilling for me when I achieve a milestone in my life, you know the whole story that once you deliver all the pain goes away? That's a lie! But when I heard her cry and held her in my arms, I felt so thankful and in awe of God's awesomeness!" well our pop idol can say that again (isn’t it awesome what happens when a man and woman spend quality time in private singing “today na today ” or “serious love nwantintin” or “whether you fat o whether you slim e no matter the color wey you get for your skin” YES IT IS AWESOME) and all you fellow pressmen wagging your silly tongues anyhow…... why being so critical, acting like you're surprised. (better to be a single mother than indulging in “washing and setting”….eeh make my oga no sack me lol)The law graduate from Ambros Ali university, ekpoma cum singer who has won several accolades for herself like best R’n’B/POP artiste 2010-Nigeria Entertainment Awards(NEA) new York, best female music video 2010-Nigeria entertainment awards (NEA), outstanding recording artiste-icon awards, best new artiste- women in entertainment and arts, just to mention a few. Omawumi has also ventured into acting; she starred in the musical play “OLUROMBI”. If you remember vagina monologues’ a highly reputed play that reflects the negative issues affecting women she was amongst the casts. Talk about Jeta Amata’s “INALE” which also featured the likes of Dede Mabiaku, Hakeem Kae Kazeem, Ini Edo, she was there too. She is also involved in many charitable and philanthropic works like, PROJECT ALERT, PINK PEARL FOUNDATION, NOTES2NOTES e.t.c
She launch herself to stardom through IDOL WEST AFRICA where she finished as 1st runner up in 2007 and as the saying goes “all the rest na tales by moonlight”. Currently toping chats across the world with her classic song “if you ask me” the super woman has proved beyond all reasonable doubt that she can “single handedly” do what usually, “two” people should do. (Oh what’s happening to the idea of daddy, mummy…. And then baby. Well, no need to ask her because if I ask her, na who she go ask?lwkmd)
MUSIC ZONE CHANNEL openly celebrates with OMAWUMI, the super woman without any reservations and we look forward to a beautiful song from our wonder woman to our “super baby”. congratulations!!

in any part of the world, yet it is the easiest cancer to prevent.
3. Cervical cancer kills a woman every hour in Nigeria and this represents
8000 deaths every year. Less than 1% of Nigerian women have ever had

ADAMS APPLES NOW IN CINEMAS
If you have not seen this movie, I suggest you make out time to do so. First reason is that I want you to share in the embarrassment (and excitement) I experienced when the movie was premièred at the ozone cinemas. I was totally engrossed in the movie, picture me sitting there with my legs held tightly together, mouth ajar (I really hope saliva wasn’t dripping) and eyes almost popping out of their sockets, reveling in the action and suspense that comes with almost every scene and occasionally tapping my head, trying to predict whats going to happen next, by the time I realized myself (which was after the movie anyway), some others where still under the same spell.
ADAMS APPLES is a 10 chapter cinema movie series created and directed by award winning Shirley Frimpong-Manso and produced by Ken Attoh. The 2010 AMAA awards best director of the year Shirley, has done lots of films like sting in a tale, perfect picture, checkmate, six hours to Christmas just to mention a few.
The movie follows the lives of the four “Adams” Ghanaian women; the widowed, ex-diplomat’s wife and her three daughters in their early and mid thirties. They work through domestic struggles, family life and personal battles to achieve success and happiness in a fast changing, 21stcentury Ghana where love can elude the hopeless romantic, victory can scorn the hardworking and marriage can be an illusion. The Adams seek all these and more from life and each other.
The cast parades the majority of Africans finest like; Joselyn C-Dumas, Naa Ashorkor, Yvonne Okoro, Anima Misa Am, John Dumelo, Adjetey Annag, SoulKnight-Jazz, Fred Kanebi amongst others
MUSIC ZONE CHANNEL particularly took interest in ADAMS APPLES not just because of the good camera work and oh common, its entertainment but majorly because of the lovely, melodious, touching and soul lifting sound tracks done by Efya, Nana TuffourElorm Adablah, Snoopy Mike Gyamfi, Gemann, Daasebre Dwamena, Lucky Mensah and Amakye Dede. Sexy sassy wahala the theme song is mmua (guess that’s how to spell the kiss sound).
Each chapter of Adams Apples will open at the cinema every month over a 12-month period. This is a masterpiece from sparrow productions. You want to stay with us as we will be doing a profile on Shirley frimpong –manso and ken Attoh. ONE MUSIC ONE WORLD

Chika chukwu, better known for her role as jumoke in amaka igwe’s fuji house of commotion. The vibrant actress that has starred in many movies and soaps has proved to be a multi talented super woman indeed. The screen favorite completely dazzled everyone present, as she performed live at her album listening party held on Sunday 12th june 2011. The angel eyed gorgeous diva bubbled althrough the event exuding such energy and grace. And oh, her beautiful dance steps are definitely something to talk about. She got everyone eyes (including mine) glued to her “twisting” and “whining”, “bumping” and “shaking” what her mama gave her. Truly she is not one of those wannabe’s; she’s got real talent and swag. Friends, families and loads of nollywood practitioners came out emmasse to support her. Jim ike , nogozi nwosu, kate henshaw nuttall, tony anih, peace anyiam osigwe where present and did their own share of “booty shaking”. Music icons too where not left out too, Mr. Cool, ego and a lot of other music artist graced the occasion. Her hit singles “beautiful” and “rocking my freedom” are already making raves in the music scene. Gist has it that record labels with the big bucks are falling over one another to sign her on.
